Special Olympics Los Angeles Lions Club of Whittier This special interest Lion Club, under Lions International, is geared towards supporting Special Olympics. SOLA's energy is focused on volunteering, scholarship awards, monetary donations and the promotion of Special Olympics and Special Olympic Games. SOLA Lions Club is the first Lions club to solely support Special Olympics on the West Coast and we are proud to be partnering with a well respected and giving organization. Our Purpose To create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world. To promote the principles of good government and good citizenship. To take an active interest in the Special Olympics. To unite the members in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding. To encourage service-minded people to serve Special Olympics without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors. Our Mission is to serve extraordinary Special Olympic athletes by supporting them in their efforts through respect, encouragement, enthusiasm, volunteerism, and giving.
